Approach, My Soul, The Mercy Seat
Approach, my soul, the mercy seat,
Where Jesus answers prayer;
There humbly fall before His feet,
For none can perish there.
Thy promise is my only plea,
With this I venture nigh;
Thou callest burdened souls to Thee
And such, O Lord, am I.
Bowed down beneath a load of sin,
By Satan sorely pressed,
By wars without and fears within,
I come to Thee for rest.
Be Thou my shield and hiding place,
That, sheltered near Thy side,
I may my fierce accuser face,
And tell him Thou hast died!
O wondrous love! To bleed and die,
To bear the cross and shame,
That guilty sinners, such as I,
Might plead Thy gracious name!
Poor tempest-toss-ed soul, be still;
My promised grace receive;
Ill work in thee both power and will;
Thou shalt in me believe.
Abordagem, My Soul, The Mercy Seat
Abordagem, a minha alma, o propiciatório,
Onde Jesus responde a oração;
Há humildemente cair diante de seus pés,
Pois ninguém pode perecer lá.
Tua promessa é o meu único fundamento,
Com esta quase venture I;
Tu chamas de almas sobrecarregadas a Ti
E assim, ó Senhor, sou eu
Curvou-se sob uma carga de pecado,
Por Satanás extremamente pressionado,
Por guerras, sem medos e dentro,
Eu venho a Ti para descansar.
Sê Tu o meu escudo e esconderijo,
Isso, abrigado perto teu lado,
Eu puder meu rosto acusador feroz,
E diga-lhe Tu morreu!
O maravilhoso amor! Para sangrar e morrer,
Para carregar a cruz e vergonha,
Que os pecadores culpados, como eu,
Poderia alegar Teu nome gracioso!
Pobre alma tempestade-lance-ed, aquieta;
Minha graça prometida receber;
Vou trabalhar em ti tanto poder e vontade;
Tu em acreditar em mim. "
