Good Company

She’s a dancer and a swimmer
And although she is no winner
She likes racing horses
Cards and cameras in the bathtub
She plays games and puts on makeup
Isn’t she so lovely

When you’re lying on the grass staring at grey skies canopies
I think if you were a tree that you’d be much taller than me

I still see your face
You know I can’t forget you
You’re moving solid ground
I’d do anything for you

I learned how to live without you
And how to be myself

I made up another me to
Answer questions only you could
Help me to be rational

Oh but if you were a tree
Then you’d live longer than me

All that’s left for me

I'm an old tree and as wise as can be
Come to me for a lesson or two
I can show you what I’ve been through
I’ve got rings to prove it

Don’t stress out or waste your time
On things that life does not provide
But go for walks and take your time
