Hey Lucas, I know you won’t hear these words
They’re coming too late, hard to reach, and too blurred
I wish I told you to smile more, live life with ease
But I only understood when I started to lose peace

I know the pain was heavy, the pressure held you down
Every judgment locked you in, made you feel like you’d drown
Now I look back, I wish I could set you free
But I know only time will teach you to be

This letter’s reaching you late, but maybe you’ll feel
The weight you’re carrying one day will heal
I wish I told you not to hide, not to be afraid
The world won’t stop just because of the choices you’ve made

At fifteen, you had so much to smile and to learn
But fear took over, and you began to turn
If I could go back, I’d say ignore their stare
Be free, be light, before pain catches you unaware

I know it was tough, it wasn’t in vain
And though I couldn’t reach you, your echoes remain
The boy I was still lives inside of me
In the memories of childhood, in all that I used to be

This letter’s reaching you late, but maybe you’ll feel
