Dragonfly

I have been a dragonfly
Darting around in your life
Getting caught under your roof
Then flying away in a minute or two
Your eyes are fixed on my wings
I wonder if they’re transparent to you

I’ll try to clear the floor
Let all the water run out the door
I’ll try not to stand in the way
Just for safety’s sake

I should have tried harder to work myself out
So you didn’t have to do it for me
Did I choose the right path before me?
